Yasmin grew up in an Armed Forces family, so has first-hand experience of what it is like to be a Service child, and the exciting opportunities that are available to a Service family. She has experienced many elements of an Armed Forces lifestyle, including living abroad, regular house moves, mid-year school moves, separation from a Service parent when weekending and during deployment, and transition out of the Armed Forces. As a Service child, Yasmin attended five schools and lived in Germany, Northern Ireland and England before her family chose to settle in Wales.
Yasmin has a degree in Early Childhood Studies and has experience in a variety of support roles in secondary education. Her most recent role was as a Family Liaison Officer in South Wales, encouraging students and their families to engage in school life and offering support to families in need.
Yasmin is passionate about ensuring that all children feel that they are listened to and supported in education, and she hugely enjoys working with Service children and schools to develop and extend the support available to them.
